Understanding What UMR Covers for Rehab
What Types of Treatment Does Humana Cover for Rehab?
Humana offers custom plans which means that not all policies will offer the same coverage. Because of this, it is difficult to say exactly what your plan covers. There are a few main ways to learn what your specific policy covers. The first would be to log onto their website and find your plan information.
The second option would be to call the number on the back of your insurance ID card and speak with a Humana representative. After sharing some of the information on your card, the representative can explain the coverage you are eligible for. If you have a treatment program in mind, they can talk to you about what your financial responsibility would be. If you are still searching for a treatment provider, the representative would be able to offer suggestions based on local providers who are considered a Humana drug rehab.
Perhaps the easiest option is contacting a professional treatment facility, such as the Robert Alexander Center, and having our talented admission staff verify your insurance for you.
If you are still wondering if Humana covers a rehab program, the simple answer is yes. Typically, Humana will cover addiction treatment that is recommended by a medical professional. This includes detox, inpatient treatment programs, outpatient treatment, and medications that assist in addiction treatment.
It is important to note that Humana does not usually cover treatment providers that are out-of-network. This means that if you choose to attend a treatment program that they do not accept, you will be responsible for the bill.
Many Humana insurance policies come with co-pays and deductibles. This means that in order for Humana to pay for treatment, the policyholder is responsible for paying their deductible first. For example, if you have a $500 deductible, you will need to pay that before Humana provides coverage for your treatment.

How Long Will Humana Insurance Cover Drug and Alcohol Rehab?
Now that we know that Humana does cover alcohol rehab, the next logical question would be, for how long? This is a great question that, unfortunately, isn’t so easy to answer. This is because it will depend on several factors, including your policy and your recommended length of treatment.
Typically, detoxification programs last for one week. For most substances, one week of detoxification gives your body the time needed to cleanse itself. During that week, you will be monitored closely by medical professionals to ensure that you are staying safe during this process. Your medical professionals may discuss medication options that can help provide relief for some of the discomforts you will feel.
Kentucky inpatient treatment programs can vary in length from 30-days to 90-days. The length of treatment programs is dependent on the person’s treatment needs. Inpatient treatment programs often use group sessions, individual sessions, educational sessions, recreational activities, and medical assessments.
One of the factors that can make an impact on your inpatient treatment program is if you would benefit from specialized treatment options. This can include mental health treatment for concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and mood disorders.
Outpatient treatment is often recommended for individuals who have recently left an inpatient program and those with what is considered “mild” substance use disorders. Outpatient treatment programs utilize both group and individual sessions. You will find that there is a large relapse prevention component to outpatient treatment when you first start to help you adjust to recovery at home. Many outpatient treatment facilities have a medical professional on staff that is able to assist with medications that may be necessary for your mental health or addiction treatment.

RAC’s Humana Alcohol Rehab is
Here For You
Located in Kentucky, the Robert Alexander Center is a Mt. Washington drug rehab for Humana insurance. We work with individuals from the surrounding Louisville area. We are confident that our state-of-the-art treatment facility will exceed the expectations that you have for an addiction treatment facility. Our goal is to make our facility warm and welcoming so that you can feel at home during your time with us. Hopefully, this can help you feel more comfortable during your treatment program.
Our Mt. Washington facility is able to provide you with a variety of program options. This ensures that you are getting the exact care that you need. By having several treatment programs, you would be able to take advantage of more than one program if needed.
Our detoxification program allows you to show your body the kindness it needs. Long-term drug misuse and abuse can actually change the way that our brain and body function. So, when you take away the drugs and/or alcohol that it has come to expect, you are going to throw your body for a loop. Detox programs typically refrain from having you engage in too much therapy because you may not be able to fully engage with your withdrawal symptoms. Common withdrawal symptoms can include muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, sleep changes, and irritability.
Our Humana alcohol rehab program can last 30-days, 60-days, or 90-days. The length that is recommended for you will be dependent on your history of abuse and other mental health concerns that you may have. If you have questions about why you received the recommendation that you got, we invite you to ask so we can have that conversation with you. Our goal is to have you as involved in your treatment plan as you can be.
We have specialized treatment options that can be added to your treatment plan, including treatment for men, women, and treatment for professionals in Kentucky who may need accommodations due to their job while in residential programs. Our staff is trained and experienced in working with a variety of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, bipolar, and trauma disorders.
We offer an Intensive Outpatient Program on an outpatient basis. The usual recommendation for this would be 15 to 25 hours of group therapy with one hour of individual therapy each week. This program is ideal for those who recently completed rehab, someone in outpatient treatment who has relapsed, and those who fall into the mild category for their substance use disorder.
We offer Family Therapy for your loved ones as well. This program will focus on your family unit, compared to addiction treatment which focuses on the individual living with an addiction. We take time to make sure that your loved ones have a working knowledge of addiction and what a healthy recovery entails. Family members oftentimes benefit from this program because they are able to relate to other families who have had similar experiences. The overall goal is to help everyone in the family have an understanding of how you can move forward in a way that is healthy for each of you.
If you are worried about yourself, or someone you love, we invite you to call us at (833) 280-5505. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have about our Humana rehab programs and see how we can help you.
