FMLA

The Robert Alexander Center supports the use of FMLA as it gives our clients the essential time and job protection needed to focus on their recovery without the fear of losing their employment. Find hope and healing from addiction with The Robert Alexander Center.

What is FMLA?

Understanding the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is beneficial for individuals seeking addiction treatment. FMLA is a federal law that allows eligible employees to take up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave per year for serious health conditions, including substance use disorders, without fear of job loss.

This law recognizes addiction as a medical condition, ensuring that individuals can prioritize their health and recovery. FMLA also protects the privacy of the employee, as employers are only informed that the leave is for medical purposes. This legal provision enables individuals to seek necessary addiction treatment and support while maintaining job security and peace of mind.

We believe everyone has the ability to recover from addiction.

Our drug and alcohol rehab center is on a mission to truly make a lasting impact on those affected by the disease of addiction in various cities.

I absolutely LOVED RAC, and all of the staff. I was absolutely terrified to go to rehab. But it has been such a warm and welcoming experience. Starting with my detox, all of the staff and nurses made sure of it my needs were met. The ARPN has been a God send. She makes sure you're comfortable. I would recommend RAC to anyone who is ready to get the help they so much deserve.

Utilizing FMLA for addiction treatment

Utilizing FMLA for addiction treatment can be a crucial step in achieving long-term recovery while ensuring job security. The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) allows eligible employees to take unpaid, job-protected leave for specified family and medical reasons, including addiction treatment. This means you can focus on your health without the added stress of potentially losing your job.

By taking advantage of FMLA, individuals struggling with addiction can attend comprehensive treatment programs, such as those offered at The Robert Alexander Center, which provide the necessary medical, psychological, and therapeutic support for overcoming addiction. This approach ensures that individuals receive the care they need while maintaining their employment and financial stability.

A Step-by-Step Guide for How to Access FMLA Benefits

To access FMLA benefits for addiction treatment, individuals typically need to follow several steps. First, consult with your employer’s Human Resources department to obtain the necessary FMLA paperwork. This paperwork includes forms to be completed by both you and your healthcare provider, verifying your need for medical leave due to addiction treatment. Provide medical documentation, such as a doctor’s note or treatment plan, outlining the necessity and duration of your leave. Submit the completed FMLA paperwork to your employer within the designated timeframe, typically 15 days before your leave begins, or as soon as practicable if the need for leave is unforeseen. Ensure you have open communication with your employer throughout the process to address any questions or concerns about your FMLA application.
